Torshi at Five Miles London review by Lady ILD
food
Team Citylicious were invited to Torshi at Five Miles is a Middle Eastern inspired restaurant within the venue’s future-facing, creative warehouse space in a Tottenham industrial estate.
This brand new bar, club and brewery is a short walk from Seven Sisters station however tucked away in a warehouse, so easy to miss.
Distinctive and colourful terrazzo flecked jesominite tables and shelves studded with leafy plants were complemented by clean lines and a minimalist industrial aesthetic.
Although to the naked eye the halloumi appeared greasy, it was in fact incredibly tasty and did not leave a greasy aftertaste.
Founded by Deano Jo (Rita’s, Pamela, The Alibi, Real Gold) and housed within Five Miles London: a destination which includes a bar, sound system and Affinity Brew Co. microbrewery.

food
There are many food trends that, as much as we try, will never be accepted as a norm – anyone still using roof tiles as plates?
And folks, that’s exactly what you can expect at Torshi at Five Miles.
Located in the same warehouse as event spot Five Miles, Torshi is a touch of Middle Eastern cuisine, tucked away in unassuming Tottenham industrial estate.
In terms of atmosphere and aesthetic, Torshi somehow manages to stay true to the Middle East theme with leafy plants and soft lighting, while also keeping its industrial roots intact with concrete walls and exposed fittings.
And the food definitely delivers!

my partner asked as we drove slowly into an industrial estate in Tottenham in search for a new bar, club and brewery.
Co-Founded by Deano Jo (Rita’s, Pamela, The Alibi, Real Gold), Five Miles London promises a new, world class sound-system, an extensive and innovative tap room featuring Tottenham’s most talented brewers, as well as cocktails on tap.
Head chef of Torshi, Ed Jonesi has created an exciting menu of snacks, sharing plates and sides with “a nod to Pan-Middle Eastern cuisine”.
It was all delicious, I just wish the bread had been toasted a little and the serving was a bit bigger.
The bar is headed up by Mark Hislop (Brewdog, The Redchurch Brewery) and features a bespoke tap wall running the full length of the bar, which displays 18 local and international beers plus a discerning selection of cocktails on draft.

North London bar, club and brewery Five Miles has added food to their warehouse space in the shape of Middle Eastern restaurant Torshi.
As the name Torshi refers to pickled vegetables you’ll find a daily selection of house pickles to choose from too.
On the drinks front, there’ll be plenty of craft beer on offer…it is next to a brewery after all…and a range of cocktails, like a pomegranate molasses negroni, on draft.
Great grub right next to a bar and club space?
Torshi is currently knocking 50% OFF food until Sun 8th October, so there’s even more reason to get down there!

But now, Torshi's shown up in new warehouse venue Five Miles to change that, with its Middle Eastern-style cuisine, mounds of homemade dips and a literal wall of craft beers for you to choose from.
Five Miles, Tottenham's new all-in-one bar, club and brewery is now also about to become a food destination when it becomes home to Toshi.
Now, along with head chef Ed Jones, he'll be concentrating on bringing Middle Eastern-inspired food to the Tottenham warehouse district.
The food by Head Chef Ed Jones will largely be sharing plates that remind us Deano's background in Dalston and Hackney, so think *super*-Instagrammable dishes like halloumi fries with pomegranate ketchup.
Plus, in the meantime, beer lovers can browse the massive, 18-tap strong craft beer collection curated by bar manager Mark Hislop (ex Brewdog and The Redchurch Brewery), or if you prefer, opt for one of their draft cocktails.

Bars and event spaces in Tottenham and Seven Sisters are transforming this formerly unloved area of north London into a zeitgeist destination, and Deptford’s budding food scene provides (another) reason to get a DLR south.
Tott’s amaze “Growing up in Haringey, I’ve always known the energy of Tottenham,” says Felix Mortimer, founder of Styx, a chameleonic events venue that has hosted theatre, club nights and live music (5 Ashley Road, N17, styx.space).
Mortimer also namechecks Beavertown and Five Miles breweries, Stronghold Climbing Gym, Punchdrunk’s arts warehouse space and Chicken Town healthy fast food, and credits the Night Tube for enlivening the area.
Up goes the neighbourhood: a party at Styx Beavertown Brewery is invariably packed (Lockwood Industrial Park, Mill Mead Road, N17, beavertownbrewery.co.uk), as is Craving Coffee, which as well as serving Climpson Sons coffee, hosts supper clubs and exhibitions by local artists: this weekend, Chale Let’s Eat will be serving Ghanaian cuisine (Gaunson House, Markfield Road, N15, cravingcoffee.co.uk).
Busy busy busy: Deptford Market Yard (Diane Auckland/Fotohaus LTD) “I was actually born in east London but my Mum used to drag me up to Deptford all the time to buy stuff in the market,” explains Adrian Luckie, founder of Mama’s Jerk, who’s set up in Arch 10 of the market.
